Terms of use

The terms on which you may use this website, what it is and is not, and the limits of what is published here.

1. Who these terms are with

This website is operated by Double Pro Plus Sdn Bhd (1280749-D), trading as SMEBox, of C-3A-2, Megan Avenue 1, No 189, Jalan Tun Razak, 50400 Kuala Lumpur. Using this site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. What this site is

It is an information site for a business financing advisory. It explains what we do, sets out how bank financing works in Malaysia, and lets you ask us to call you back. It is not an application form, not a quotation system and not a comparison service.

3. The information here is general

Everything published on this site is written for business owners in general and takes no account of your particular circumstances, your accounts or your obligations. It is not financial advice, legal advice or tax advice, and it should not be treated as a recommendation to take or avoid any facility. Before acting on anything here, take advice on your own position.

4. We are not a lender

SMEBox does not lend money, does not provide credit and does not set interest rates. We are not licensed under the Moneylenders Act 1951 and we do not carry on moneylending business. We advise on financing provided by banks and development financial institutions licensed in Malaysia, and we do not advise on personal loans or consumer credit. Nothing on this site is an offer of credit or an invitation to enter into a credit agreement.

5. No guarantee of any outcome

Whether a facility is approved, on what terms and at what price is decided by the bank, on its own criteria, after its own assessment. We cannot guarantee that any application will be approved, that any figure mentioned here will be available to you, or that a bank will consider your file at all. Anything we say about likelihood is an opinion based on experience, not a commitment.

6. What you send us

When you submit an enquiry you confirm that the information you give is accurate, that you are authorised to give it, and that where it concerns other people, such as fellow directors, you have their agreement to pass it on. Personal data you send is handled as set out in the privacy notice.

Please do not send confidential financial documents through this website. When an engagement begins we will tell you the secure route for them.

7. Our content

The text, illustrations, tables and tools on this site belong to us or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright. You may read them, print them and share a link to them. You may not republish them as your own, or copy substantial parts of them into another commercial publication, without our written agreement. Quoting a short passage with a credit and a link is fine.

8. The calculators and the self-check

The calculators and the eligibility self-check produce estimates from the figures you type in. They use general assumptions rather than any bank’s actual criteria, they do not know your accounts, and their output is not an offer, a quotation or an assessment. The calculators run in your browser and nothing you enter into them is stored or sent anywhere. The eligibility self-check works the same way until you choose to have the result emailed to you. If you do, your email address and the result are sent to you and to us, and are handled as set out in the privacy notice.

9. Links to other sites

Where we link to a regulator, a scheme owner or another organisation, we do so because the source is useful. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for what they publish, and a link is not an endorsement or evidence of a relationship.

10. Availability

We try to keep the site up and accurate, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of error. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.

11. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or from reliance on anything published here, including any decision to apply or not to apply for financing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies, and the date below tells you when it last changed.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms: [email protected], or write to the address above.
