Andy founded SMEBox in 2018. He handles the applications himself, from the first review of your position through to the bank’s decision.
Andy started SMEBox in 2018 to do one thing: prepare Malaysian SME financing applications properly before they reach a bank, rather than sending a thin file to several banks and hoping.
Most of what he does is unglamorous and it is the part that decides the outcome. Reading the last six months of statements the way a credit officer will read them. Working out whether the facility the owner has asked for is the one the business actually needs. Deciding which banks are worth approaching for this particular case and which are not. Putting the submission together so the questions a credit officer would ask are already answered in it.
His professional history is set out on his LinkedIn profile. Banks and former employers are not named here, in line with the rest of this site, which carries no bank names anywhere.
Nothing is submitted to any bank without your written approval. You are told before any work starts whether an application looks likely to succeed, including when the answer is that it does not. There is no charge for the initial review, and no charge at all if the facility does not complete.
Where a case is not ready, the useful answer is usually what to change and when to come back, not a submission this quarter. That conversation costs nothing.
SMEBox is an adviser, not a lender. Andy does not lend money, does not set rates, and does not decide whether any bank approves an application. Every decision about approval, amount and pricing is made by the bank. Nothing on this site is advice on your particular circumstances.
Andy does not write or review the guides published on this site. They are written in-house and checked by Steven Law, who has direct experience of bank credit assessment. That separation is deliberate.
